HSA Committees

Looking for a way to make a difference in your child’s education and get involved at their school? Look no further. No matter how much time you have to give — a few hours at a single event or a few hours each week — all parent involvement is valued and needed!  What is an HSA?  Learn more here!

 

Runnymede Home & School Association has the following Committees:

• Arts & Enrichment Committee: This group is focused on making sure our students get enriching exposure to the arts by providing classroom-based visual and performing arts enrichment opportunities for all grade levels. You will see beautiful examples inside and outside the school of our the amazing art our children have been able to create! We also work with teachers, and the FUN/FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE to help organize Arts celebrations (like Nuit Orange & Illuminations) and more! Contact us at RunnymedeArt@gmail.com.

• Communications Committee: This group helps the HSA and Admin to communicate with Runnymede parents. We manage this website and keep it up-to-date, send weekly HSA Update emails, and post about upcoming events, fundraisers, and initiatives, to make sure you have the links and information you need!  Contact us at RunnymedeCommunications@gmail.com

• Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Committee: This group helps to enrich Runnymede through hands-on science, mathematics and technology opportunities that focus on the reinforcement of the mathematics and science curricula.  They help to organize fun Math events (like AngryBirds for Kindergarten, and Math Amazing Race activities for Grades 1-5), Science Fairs, Lego League Robotics, STEM events, and facilitate Science Kits usage in classrooms! • Fun & Fundraising Committee: This group organizes fun events for community building at Runnymede, that also raise funds to provide enrichment for all students! 
  Past events include: Pub Night, Kindergarten Meet & Greet, Pizza Days, Movie Nights, Teacher Appreciation Lunch, Concert Ticket Sales, Marlies Game, Cookie Dough Sales, Runnymede Open House, Illuminations / Nuit Orange & our biggest fundraising initiative: the Direct donation campaign.  These are just some of the amazing events you can get involved with! • Green/Yard Committee: This group focuses on maintaining the amazing outdoor learning spaces, and beautiful and unique green spaces at Runnymede. This group keeps the school yard cleaned, weeded, planted and thriving, and also runs the specialized Green Teacher program, ensures that each classroom has their needed recess equipment. Our Spring and Fall Yard Days are also organized by the Green committee! Contact us at RunnymedeYard@gmail.com

• Athletics Committee: Our brand new committee, with goals of making sure our students get enriching exposure to athletics education, equipment and experiences by providing classroom-based opportunities for all grade levels. Contact us at AthleticsRunnymede@gmail.com

**** To become a Chair on an HSA Committee, you must become a voting member of the Runnymede HSA.  Please complete this membership form and reach out to runnymede@ofhsa.ca if you have questions – membership fees will be covered by the HSA.
