Join us! The Centennial committee needs volunteers to help us reach out to alumni, conduct research, create archives, and plan for the big event: our centennial celebration in February 2016. If you have an interest in local history and/or any experience in archiving historical items, the Centennial committee may be a great fit for you…but no special experience or expertise is required – everyone is welcome! To join the committee or to volunteer your time, please contact Marshall Leslie or Vangelia Nitsis.
About the Centennial Committee: Runnymede Public School first opened its doors to students on February 1st, 1916. On that same day in 2016, the school will celebrate its centennial anniversary and a proud history of public education. The Centennial committee is working tirelessly building up to that date, researching the school’s history and planning for the big celebration.

2011/2012 Plans: We have collected a trove of historical documents and photos of Runnymede since the creation of the committee, and are busy scanning these for electronic archival. This year we will continue work on our archive, follow-up on the report of a consulting archivist, and further develop plans in consultation with other committees of Council.
The Centennial Committee in Action: Check out some of our latest successes!
- To mark the five-year countdown to this occasion, members of the Runnymede community – both past and present – came together on February 1, 2011, for a student re-enactment of the first day of school at Runnymede P.S. back in 1916.
- We launched a Facebook Page and a Twitter feed to help us share our progress with the community.

I have the 1968 gr8 class graduation picture for Mr Wobousk ‘s class .
